The Meaning Behind “Majulah Singapura”

More than just our National Anthem, “Majulah Singapura” is a timeless call for progress. One that has rallied generations of Singaporeans to rise, rebuild, and reach higher together.

As we mark 60 years of independence, this year’s theme invites us to reflect on the road we’ve walked as one people, and to look ahead with hope, courage, and unity. It reminds us that our strength lies not only in how far we’ve come, but in the trust, inclusivity, and shared values that continue to guide us forward.

Here We Are — The NDP 2025 Theme Song

Co-written by Charlie Lim and Chok Kerong, and performed by Charlie Lim, Kit Chan and The Island Voices, Here We Are is a heartfelt anthem that pays tribute to the people and spirit of Singapore.

The music video, directed by He Shuming, features a 60-member community choir and a series of vignettes capturing everyday moments of resilience, care, and celebration — scenes that reflect who we are and the home we’ve built together.

A reminder that through every challenge and every chapter, we’ve moved forward not as individuals, but as one.
